Product Description |
Showing stars and cars in their true light: HMI® EVENT OSRAM HMI single-end lamp family continues to offer the best in HMI quality. In addition to the DIGITAL and STUDIO offering these single end HMI lamps offer consistent 6000K color and >90 CRI. HMI Lamps = 6000W are also designed with a unique round moly-foil that more evenly distributes heat and current, providing lamp life increases on average of 25%. Lamps designated as EVENT have been designed specifically for auto shows and other large-scale events. Identifiable by their black base, these lamps have improved heat resistance for high thermal requirements and a tighter range of color temperature for consistent color and brightness. They also incorporate the UV-Stop technology. Product features and benefits
More than 50 years ago, film and television producers turned to OSRAM, seeking an economical and efficient alternative to incandescent lights. From this request, the HMI® lamp was born. The HMI® technology has since received multiple prestigious awards – such as the OSCAR®, the Primetime Emmy® Engineering Award and the PLASA Innovation Award. As a result, the HMI® lamp family continues to be an integral part of film sets around the world. Thanks to their continuous improvement, HMI® lamps have made film history again and again – many film productions would not be possible with the outstanding light of our HMI® lamps. Our powerful and effective HMI® series will benefit the entertainment industry at every level, from professional film productions to small theatrical events. Acknowledging the out-standing performance and continuous development of HMI® technology for the TV industry, OSRAM, in 2007, was awarded the Primetime Emmy® Engineering Award by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. HMI® lamps are AC-operated metal halide discharge lamps, which have excellent color rendering and photometric integrity throughout their life. Perfect light whatever the time – day or night. With an extremely bright light, providing up to 100 lumens per watt, OSRAM HMI® lamps generate a color temperature that closely matches sunlight. It reveals true colors and facilitates daytime filming outdoors. OSRAM HMI® lamps are up to five times more efficient than an incandescent light.

Specifications |
| General Specifications | |||
Watts |
9000WATTS A unit of electrical power. Lamps are rated in watts to indicate the rate at which they consume energy. This OSRAM 54464 Bulb is rated at 9000 watts. |
Volts |
160VOLTS A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The higher the voltage, the more current will be pushed through a resistor connected across the points. The volt specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 277 V) refers to the line voltage it must be connected to. This OSRAM 54464 Bulb is rated at 160 volts. |
Base Type |
GX38BASE TYPE The base is the end of the lamp that fits into the receptacle connected to the electrical supply. There are many types of bases used in lamps, screw bases being the most common for incandescent and HID lamps, while bipin bases are common for linear fluorescent lamps. This OSRAM 54464 Bulb has a base type of GX38. |
Bulb Type |
T-75BULB TYPE The bulb type refers to the shape and class of the bulb. This OSRAM 54464 Bulb has a base type of T-75. |
Rated Average Life |
400 hrsRATED AVERAGE LIFE This is the manufacturer provided rating for the average expected life of a lamp. For most lamp types, rated lamp life is the length of time of a statistically large sample between first use and the point when 50% of the lamps have failed. Note, this is not a manufacturer guarantee of life, but an estimate based on typical average testing. It is possible to define a "useful life" of a lamp based on practical considerations involving lumen depreciation and color shift. This OSRAM 54464 Bulb has an rated average life of 400 hours. |
Color Temperature |
6000 KCOLOR TEMPERATURE A measure indicating the degree of "yellowness" or "blueness" of a white light source. Measured in kelvins, Color Temperature represents the temperature an incandescent object (like a filament) must reach to mimic the color of the light emitting from the lamp. Yellowish-white ("warm") sources, like incandescent lamps, have lower color temperatures in the 2700K-3000K range; white and bluish-white ("cool") sources, such as cool white (4100K) and natural daylight (6000K), have higher color temperatures. The higher the color temperature the whiter, or bluer, the light will be. The lower the color temperature the more yellow the light will be. This OSRAM 54464 Bulb has a color temperature of 6000 K. |
Lumens |
875000LUMENS A measure of the luminous flux or quantity of light emitted by a source. For example, a dinner candle provides about 12 lumens. A 60-watt Soft White incandescent lamp provides about 840 lumens. This OSRAM 54464 Bulb emits 875000 lumens. |
Color Rendering Index (CRI) |
90COLOR RENDERING INDEX (CRI) An international system used to rate a lamp's ability to render object colors. The higher the CRI (based upon a 0-100 scale) the richer and more true colors generally appear. CRI ratings of various lamps may be compared, but a numerical comparison is only valid if the lamps are close in color temperature. CRI differences among lamps are not usually significant (visible to the eye) unless the difference is more than 3-5 points. This OSRAM 54464 Bulb is rated at 90 CRI color rendering index. |
Bulb Finish |
ClearBULB FINISH The bulb coating of the bulb. Typical values include clear, frost, and colored. This OSRAM 54464 Bulb has a Clear bulb finish. |
