| General Specifications | |||
Watts |
450WATTS A unit of electrical power. Lamps are rated in watts to indicate the rate at which they consume energy. This Ushio 5000114 Bulb is rated at 450 watts. |
||
Volts |
140VOLTS A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The higher the voltage, the more current will be pushed through a resistor connected across the points. The volt specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 277 V) refers to the line voltage it must be connected to. This Ushio 5000114 Bulb is rated at 140 volts. |
||
Base Type |
R7s (Recessed Single Contact)BASE TYPE The base is the end of the lamp that fits into the receptacle connected to the electrical supply. There are many types of bases used in lamps, screw bases being the most common for incandescent and HID lamps, while bipin bases are common for linear fluorescent lamps. This Ushio 5000114 Bulb has a base type of R7s (Recessed Single Contact). |
||
Rated Average Life |
500 hrsRATED AVERAGE LIFE This is the manufacturer provided rating for the average expected life of a lamp. For most lamp types, rated lamp life is the length of time of a statistically large sample between first use and the point when 50% of the lamps have failed. Note, this is not a manufacturer guarantee of life, but an estimate based on typical average testing. It is possible to define a "useful life" of a lamp based on practical considerations involving lumen depreciation and color shift. This Ushio 5000114 Bulb has an rated average life of 500 hours. |
||
Operating Position |
H10OPERATING POSITION Mercury and High Pressure Sodium lamps may be operated in any burn position and will still maintain their rated performance specifications. Metal Halide and Low Pressure Sodium lamps, however, are optimized for performance in specific burn positions, or may be restricted to certain burn positions for safety reasons. This Ushio 5000114 Bulb has an operating position of H10. |
||
Bulb Finish |
ClearBULB FINISH The bulb coating of the bulb. Typical values include clear, frost, and colored. This Ushio 5000114 Bulb has a Clear bulb finish. |

Safety Notices & Warnings |
||
LAMP OPERATION AND SAFETY Metal halogens are extremely active compounds producing high levels of both UV-A and short-wave UV-B and UV-C radiation known to be harmful to the human eye and skin. To avoid danger, the bulb temperature must be maintained within the recommended limits. As the bulb temperature rises, high internal pressure can build to the fracturing point of the quartz; to stay within the safety limits the temperature must not exceed 850ºC. As with mercury vapor lamps, metal halide lamps should be operated and handled only under the direction and supervision of qualified personnel. |
